Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have mid-level experience in maintenance and repair work on water and sewer utilities, as well as strong leadership and communication skills. The Maintenance Foreman will be responsible for overseeing a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating daily schedules, and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner by working with the crew.
This position will be assigned to the City of Aberdeen Maintenance Shop on Aberdeen Proving Ground and will require a Tier 1 level Background Check, in addition to the standard pre-employment background check.
This position requires the applicant to have a CDL - Class B and the ability to pass a DOT physical.
Applicants must have an MDE Water Collection (C2) OR Water Distribution (D1) License at the time of applying.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance crews
- Inspect and maintain equipment, machinery, and facilities
- Order and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Train and mentor maintenance staff
- Communicate with management and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities
- Prepare and maintain maintenance records and reports
-Operates light and medium-sized construction and power equipment
Requirements:
-MDE Collection 2 and Distribution 1 Certifications (both certifications must be held within 1 year of employment)
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance and repair work in utilities, asphalt, and concrete work
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Strong knowledge of Water and Sewer Utility systems
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
- Proficient in computer applications and maintenance software, GIS, Microsoft Suite
-Valid CDL required.
