Human Resources Generalist

Human Resources Generalist
ANNUAL SALARY: $84,661.00 or higher depending upon experience
JOB OBJECTIVE: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Manager of Human Resources in supporting all HR functions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, safety and employment law compliance. This is a full-time, exempt position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have knowledge of benefits and compensation, training and development, employee relations, performance appraisal and management practices, recruitment and staffing, and human resource law.
- Travel for training may be required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Must have four-year college degree in related field and HRCI PHR or SHRM-CP certification (or ability to obtain with one year of hire) with a minimum of two years’ experience in human resource management.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; assists with maintenance of employee handbook.
- Participates in tracking corporate goals, objectives, and training.
- Assists with administration of the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises, as necessary.
- Participate in Joint Insurance Committee meetings.
- Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual open enrollment and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Conducts recruitment effort for nonexempt personnel, student interns and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors on boarding program and writes and places advertisements.
- Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.
- Maintains company organization charts, employee photo library and the employee job title listing.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results in relation to established HR and corporate goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the HR division and services performed.
- Maintains human resource and payroll records and compiles reports from the database.
- Runs biweekly payroll for company using ADP.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Regular, reliable attendance is a requirement of this job.
