Senior Director of Sourcing & Production - Citizens of Humanity
Citizens of Humanity is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Sourcing & Production to lead third-party manufacturing across the brand. This role will oversee the sourcing, development, and production lifecycle across denim, wovens, knits, sweaters, outerwear, and accessories – ensuring best-in-class quality, competitive costing, and timely delivery while supporting the premium positioning and continued growth of the brand.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of premium apparel manufacturing, global sourcing strategy, vendor management, and cross-functional leadership within a fast-paced, design-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end sourcing and production processes from development through final delivery across all product categories
- Manage production timelines, calendars, and delivery schedules to ensure seasonal milestones and shipping targets are met
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support quality, margin goals, scalability, and long-term brand growth
- Identify, onboard, and cultivate relationships with best-in-class global manufacturing partners across denim, ready-to-wear, and accessories
- Lead vendor negotiations, costing strategies, capacity planning, and production allocation
- Partner closely with Product Development, Design, Merchandising, Technical Design, Operations, and Sales to ensure seamless execution from concept to shipment
- Maintain and uphold the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and consistency across all categories
- Collaborate with internal QA and compliance teams to ensure adherence to company standards, sustainability initiatives, and ethical manufacturing practices
- Anticipate and proactively resolve production challenges related to timelines, raw materials, capacity, or costing
- Analyze production efficiencies and identify opportunities for process improvement and operational optimization
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to internal production teams and external vendor partners
- Support the continued growth and expansion of the brand across categories
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in apparel sourcing, production, or supply chain management within premium or luxury fashion
- Strong expertise in global sourcing, vendor management, costing, and apparel production processes across multiple categories
- Experience working with premium fabrics, washes, trims, and elevated construction standards
- Deep understanding of global manufacturing markets and supply chain operations
- Exceptional organizational, project management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while managing multiple priorities
- Experience working closely with design-driven and product-focused teams preferred
- Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and responsible sourcing practices is a plus
