As a Security Shift Supervisor, you will help coordinate daily security activities, provide directions to officers, monitor field performance, and respond to incidents requiring leadership involvement. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Shift Coordination
- Assign officer posts, patrol zones, and special duties based on operational requirements
- Conduct beginning-of-shift briefings covering site updates, safety information, and operational expectations
- Verify officers arrive properly equipped, uniformed, and ready for duty
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to personnel throughout the shift
- Promote professional conduct, accountability, and customer service standards
- Serve as the primary point of contact for officers requiring assistance or direction
- Respond to alarms, disturbances, security concerns, and emergency situations
- Coordinate officer response during incidents and ensure procedures are followed
- Communicate with emergency responders and outside agencies when required
- Secure incident locations and maintain scene integrity when necessary
- Gather preliminary information and assist with initial investigations
- Obtain statements and relevant details related to incidents or operational concerns
- Monitor shift activity to ensure post orders and site procedures are being followed
- Conduct inspections and spot checks throughout assigned areas
- Identify potential security concerns and implement appropriate corrective actions
- Maintain awareness of staffing levels and operational readiness throughout the shift
- Review and verify completion of required reports and activity logs
- Ensure incidents are documented accurately and submitted before shift completion
- Prepare detailed reports regarding significant events and operational issues
- Notify the Contract Manager of major incidents, emergencies, or policy concerns in a timely manner
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead personnel in a professional manner
- Excellent organizational and decision making abilities
- Dependable attendance and reliability
- Ability to remain calm and effective during emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and report writing skills
- Previous security supervisory, lead officer, military, law enforcement, or related leadership experience
- Experience conducting investigations and incident documentation
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures
- Familiarity with patrol operations and officer scheduling
- Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
