We are looking for a full-time Resident Engineer to join the team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Engineer on construction projects involving roadway, bridge, and underground improvements using local, state, and federal funding.
- Prepare all construction documentation per IDOT BLR&S requirements using CMMS, or similar detailed local agency required documentation.
- Measure and calculate pay item quantities, prepare contractor pay applications, and oversee preparation of construction record drawings.
- Develop change orders and pay estimates.
- Complete on-site re-design when issues/conflicts are found.
- Coordinate directly with the client providing daily or weekly reporting, preparing for and chairing preconstruction meetings, and responding directly to the client with project issues.
- Work closely with and manage other team members and positively interact with the public.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- 8-10 years of construction experience
- Illinois PE license
- Certified in IDOT's Documentation of Contract Quantities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to learn through on the job mentoring and training
- MicroStation experience a plus
Salary : $115,000 - $145,000
