We are looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join the team working on sanitary lift stations, stormwater and potable water pump stations, and other electrical work, including MCC/generator replacements, lighting projects, and electric vehicle charging stations.
The selected candidate can work out of any of the following locations: Chicago, IL, Peoria, IL, Crown Point, IN.
Responsibilities Include:
- Prepares design plans and related documents for the development of engineering projects at the direction of their Project Manager.
- Participates in data collection and information gathering to apply to computer-based models.
- Evaluates existing site conditions, field data collection, topographic survey, and geotechnical reports.
- Evaluates existing system infrastructure and controls associated with water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems to be input into computer-based models and calculation software.
- Perform required calculations, analyze results, and identify necessary work to be included in the design.
- Documents all design work progress in writing, drawings, sketches, calculations, or tabulations.
- Coordinate work with utility companies for new services and/or to determine if relocates are necessary with regards to the design project.
- Develops and back-checks quantity and cost estimates for design projects.
- Assists in the preparation of permit applications.
- Utilizes value engineering, technical input, and contributions from others throughout design process.
- Undertakes research related to new methods or materials for use in projects.
- Continually develops personal knowledge of engineering and construction best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering from accredited school.
- 4-8 years of experience relevant to the responsibilities listed above
- Good technical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects
- MicroStation proficiency
Salary : $90,000 - $108,000
