About the Role
We are seeking a Hardware Engineer focused on test development to support component and system-level validation efforts. This role is fully onsite and requires close collaboration with internal engineering teams and external suppliers. You will contribute to both early-stage prototype validation and qualification testing for production-bound hardware, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and execute hardware test plans at both component and system levels
- Utilize lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and environmental tools to conduct testing
- Design and build test setups including block diagrams, bills of materials, and validation procedures
- Create custom test infrastructure including load simulators, harnesses, and Python-based automation tools
- Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to support development of test systems
- Prepare and present technical documentation including test plans, design reviews, and readiness reviews
- Review engineering documentation related to standards, design validation, and risk assessments
About You
You are a hands-on engineer with a strong foundation in hardware testing and development. You thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and take initiative in building innovative test solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 4 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in electronics development
- Experience testing electronic, automotive, aerospace, or similar hardware systems
- Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Altium
- Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, environmental chambers, electronic loads, VNAs, TDRs, and spectrum analyzers
- Experience working with Ubuntu and Python
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Engineering or a related discipline
- Participation in engineering competitions such as SAE, FIRST, or DARPA challenges
- Knowledge of systems architecture, networking, and hardware subsystems
- Experience with CAN compliance and common communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, and MDIO
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems such as UEI or Keysight
- Experience with requirement and test case management tools such as Polarion
- Experience using Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence
