The onsite IT Help Desk Specialist provides software and hardware support to system users. Answer questions about, and provide instruction on the operation of computer applications and equipment. Duties And Responsibilities
User Support
- Record, track, and document the service desk request problem-solving process, including successful and unsuccessful decisions, and actions taken through to final resolution
- Install, configure, and manage desktop computers running Windows, Android (Google), and iOS operations systems and common office productivity applications
- Install, configure, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot printers
- Support common desktop software applications, browsers, and security software
- Develop and maintain documentation for common support tasks
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications
- Perform onsite and remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of all information problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed
- High school diploma or beyond
- A , Network , Security , or similar certification desired but not required
- 2-3 years of related experience supporting help desk operations and client systems
- Strong working knowledge of modern PC technology components and their relationships, including software, hardware, networking, applications, and peripherals
- Occasional evening and weekend on call rotation
- Microsoft Windows Professional 10 & 11
- Microsoft Office applications and tools
- Experience with supporting hardware for desktops such as printers, multifunction devices, scanners and monitors
- Desirable additional technical skills and exposure.
- Windows Server 2008 R2 through current release
- Active Directory User Administration
- Active Directory Group Policy Administration
- LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi administration and support
