Position Overview
CIE Defense is seeking an experienced Senior Security Systems Technician to lead installation, service, and integration of enterprise-level security systems. The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on expertise with access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, networking, and high-security environments. This role supports critical infrastructure, government facilities, and sensitive defense operations.
The Senior Technician will act as a technical lead, mentor junior technicians, ensure compliance with regulatory and manufacturer standards, and interface directly with clients during advanced deployments.
Responsibilities
- Lead installation, service, and maintenance of:
- Access control systems (LenelS2, Honeywell, Bosch, etc.)
- CCTV and IP-based video surveillance systems
- Intrusion detection and alarm systems
- Electronic locks, door hardware, and control panels
- Perform advanced system programming, configuration, and commissioning
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root-cause diagnostics
- Conduct and document system testing, validation, and quality assurance
- Manage cabling layouts, terminations, and infrastructure planning
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and technical specifications
- Train end-users and provide system handover briefings
- Mentor and guide junior and entry-level technicians
- Serve as on-site lead for integration projects and coordinate with project managers
- Conduct site surveys, develop technical scopes, and support design recommendations
- Maintain accurate service logs, compliance documentation, and change records
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
- Support regional travel assignments and occasional mission-critical deployments
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in security systems installation, integration, or service
- Strong background in electrical/low-voltage systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, cable certification, and system calibration
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and technical manuals
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and operate independently
- Strong customer service skills and professional communication
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check; may require eligibility for security clearances
- Willingness to travel regionally as needed
- High School diploma or GED required; technical trade school or certifications preferred

- Experience with major brands including:
- LenelS2
- Honeywell Pro-Watch
- Bosch
- Axis Communications
- Avigilon or similar enterprise platforms
- Prior work with military bases, government facilities, data centers, or high-security sites
- Networking knowledge (IP addressing, PoE switches, VLANs)
- Certifications such as:
- LenelS2 Factory Certification
- Honeywell / Bosch / Axis certifications
- OSHA 10/30
- NICET Level I/II
- CompTIA Network or equivalent
