Position Overview:
CIE Defense is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Security Systems Technician with some prior experience in security system installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. This role is ideal for candidates looking to grow their skills in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment supporting mission-critical security operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation, service, and maintenance of security systems, including:
- Access control systems
- CCTV and video surveillance systems
- Intrusion detection systems
- Electronic locks and control panels
- Pull cable, terminate connections, and test new and existing systems
- Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on security equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Follow detailed work orders and ensure compliance with all safety, security, and quality standards
- Maintain accurate installation/service records
- Support senior technicians on larger integration projects
- Conduct site surveys and basic client training upon system handover
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
Qualifications:
- Experience in Electrical experience/low-voltage work
- Familiarity with basic hand tools, meters, and cabling best practices
- Ability to read and interpret installation manuals and schematics
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check (position may require security clearances)
- Must be willing to travel regionally as needed
- High School diploma or GED required; additional technical certifications are a plus (e.g., OSHA 10, manufacturer certifications)
Preferred (Not Required):
- Basic knowledge of brands such as LenelS2, Honeywell, Bosch, Axis, or similar
- Prior experience working with military, government, or high-security facilities
- Basic networking knowledge (IP cameras, POE switches)
