Assume responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and the recording, classifying and summarizing of data therein, including supporting documentation. Instruct department staff on use of accounting software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Employee will engage in cross-training with your colleagues. This will allow you to learn their roles and responsibilities, enabling you to serve as backup when needed.
Analyze general ledger, prepare general ledger entries, maintain chart of accounts, prepare and maintain cost allocation management system, prepare and post accrual entries as needed.
Act as first line of defense on accounting system software issues, financial statement programming creation and maintenance functions, responsible for contacting outside consultants when necessary.
Provide proof of cash analysis, bank statement reconciliation, provide periodic cash flow analysis reports, download banking information and maintain direct link with banking institution via software program such as Business Express@tm.
Print proposed budgets and post to ledger after approval.
Assist Chief Financial Officer in coordinating the agency's annual audit of financial records, provide necessary records to auditor and post audit entries to the ledger.
The individual is accountable for the monthly financial closing process of the CICOA Foundation, which includes making accurate entries into the accounting system.
The employee will review bi-weekly payroll entries and will serve as a backup for payroll and 401(k) administration as needed.
Along with the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Accountant I, will assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures for each role in the Fiscal department.
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in helping the Fiscal Department transition to a digital environment. This includes implementing accounting software, streamlining financial processes, and ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
Tasked with the recording and allocation of grants provided by the CICOA Foundation, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to funding guidelines. This role involves tracking grant applications, managing disbursement processes, and maintaining comprehensive records to facilitate transparent and efficient financial oversight.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
