About the Role

As an Employment & Education Specialist, you will provide recovery-oriented, person-centered psychosocial rehabilitation services to working-aged youth and adults. You will serve as a designated guide, helping participants discover their career potential and build long-term independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Career Coaching: Conduct intake assessments, explore interests/strengths, and assist participants with career planning, resume building, interviewing, and work-ordered day tasks.
  • Community & Employer Relationship Building: Build intentional partnerships with local employers, educational institutions, and mental health teams to create job opportunities and integrate services.
  • Ongoing Job Retention Support: Provide continuous long-term support to participants on the job, helping them navigate workplace barriers, develop coping mechanisms, and achieve career growth.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely clinical service documentation, progress notes, and monthly reports using our electronic data systems.

  • Communication & Facilitation Skills: Strong active listening skills and comfort facilitating group or individual sessions.
  • Mobility Requirements: Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and active auto insurance (for local community travel/transportation).

Education & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s preferred) in Social Work, Rehabilitation Psychology, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience supporting individuals with mental health, substance use, or complex life challenges in a rehabilitative, human services, or employment setting.
  • Bonus Qualifications: Background with the IPS Supported Employment model or Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) network provider experience.

Work Environment & Schedule
  • Community-Based Focus: Primary service delivery takes place in the community alongside participants (with some occasional telehealth capabilities).
  • Downtown Base: Our Clubhouse is conveniently located in downtown Madison, WI.
  • Flexible Hours: Core business hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, but we offer the flexibility to offer our services in the evening/weekend hours for job site support, social events, or professional development.
