We’re searching for the next generation of innovative minds who want to shape the world and live to build. CSEC is looking for a Concrete Form Carpenter in our Knoxville, Tennessee region. Concrete Form Carpenters are responsible for completing a variety of rough and finish carpentry jobs on construction project sites.

What You Will Do

As a Concrete Form Carpenter, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Works with varied materials including but not limited to wood, plastic, fiberglass or drywall.
• Utilizes tools including but not limited to chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to erect and repair structures.
• Utilizes tools including but not limited to levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
• Joins materials with nails, screws, staples or adhesives.
• Safely operates a variety of saws and other carpentry tools.
• Checks work along the way to ensure it meets all code and specification requirements.
• Works on top of stilts, ladders and the top beams of buildings.
• Performs the building of handrails, steps, drilling, and patching, light concrete work.
• Builds stairs, temp doors, ramps, temp walls, etc.
• Erects various types of scaffolding including pipe and safety barriers, and make provisions on scaffolding for moving and handling materials needed for the job.
• Keeps immediate working area clean. Must use broom and wheelbarrows and follow material procedures.
• Able to look at flat drawings and understand how they would look as solid objects.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: The work is completed outside at the construction site, and can include renovating occupied facilities such as hospitals, labs, nursing homes, etc. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires they wear protective equipment when on the construction site (Hardhats and safety glasses). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and able to talk and hear other employee talking. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Travel: Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives.

What You Will Bring To The Team

Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:

• Minimum two years in construction carpentry experience.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, And Skills For This Role Include

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum two years in construction carpentry experience.
