Christie Clinic's department of Neurology in Bloomington Empire is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Insurance Specialist between the hours of Tuesday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements.
Duties include answering incoming phone calls and scheduling and rescheduling appointments and obtaining authorizations for diagnostic imaging and medications. The insurance specialist will also serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff.
Qualifications:JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Greet patients and visitors in an efficient, professional and courteous manner. Solicit customer feedback to improve service.
- Assist in maintaining provider schedules.
- Demonstrate the ability to promptly answer a high volume of phone calls and provide check-in/check-out and rescheduling process for patients if necessary.
- Verify and update necessary demographic information.
- Fill out radiology requisition forms when needed.
- Act as a liaison between departments in order to refer patients to providers, both internal and external.
- Schedule tests, labs, appointments, when needed.
- Obtain prior authorizations as required for diagnostic imaging and medications.
- Updating insurance information, authorization status, and other pertinent information.
- Attend and participate in daily department meetings.
- Act as the liaison between Neurology and outside authorization organizations.
- Verify provider status with patient’s insurance company and obtain authorizations when needed.
- Maintain an organized work area.
- Attend coordinator meetings as required. Following coordinator meetings, inform employees on any new information pertinent to their position.
- Assist with receptionist duties and MOA duties as needed.
- Perform related work as required.

PAY AND BENEFITS:
