Job Summary
Christian High School, a private Christian school in the greater San Diego, is accepting applications for a Secondary English Teacher. The teacher will have had experience as a Secondary English Teacher. The candidate must be passionate about engaging students in guiding them to think, learn and live from a Biblical worldview. The Secondary English teacher needed is for grades 7-12. This position may include teaching a combination of these college-prep classes, and/or alternative non-college prep English courses. The emphasis in our college prep courses is on argumentative writing. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about Christian education, and someone who is called to work with students, encouraging them to grow in their understanding of Literature and Language through a Biblical lens.
Requirements / Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s Degree Profess Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and is authoritative on all matters of which it speaks. Model Christian beliefs, thoughts, and actions toward others including a commitment to God’s Biblical standards of sexual conduct. Luke 6:40 Endorse and comport with the CUSSD Employee Statement of Faith. Place Christ and His Word at the center of knowledge and learning. Exceptional oral and written communication. Possess spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to “train up a child in the way he should go.” Expected qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in English or Education. Single Subject English Credential (or in the process of acquiring one): Possess or will possess within the first year of CUSSD employment an ACSI temporary teacher certification. All teachers must obtain a valid teaching credential within five years of being employed at CUSSD (some subjects do not apply). Minimum 2-3 years teaching experience preferred.
