What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Teachers 26-27 School Year (Elementary, MIddle, & High) position at Christian County Public Schools?
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide instruction in literacy education, childcare, and deaf education
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students
- Use effective behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
- Provide mentoring and support to students with special needs
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive equipment to enhance learning experiences
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities or autism
- Familiarity with curriculum development and instructional strategies for students with special needs
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
