Duties
- Design and deliver comprehensive lessons on information technology, including software development, web development, and programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, C , R, HTML, CSS, React, Node.js, and React Express.
- Develop innovative lesson plans that incorporate online instruction tools like Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard and other learning technology platforms.
- Facilitate hands-on activities to teach students how to work with computer networking concepts and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Provide tutoring and personalized support to students working on projects or mastering complex IT topics.
- Assess student progress through regular evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and respectful engagement with technology.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum content related to higher education teaching standards and adult education methodologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in classroom instruction or technical training related to information technology or computer science.
- Strong technical proficiency with programming languages (JavaScript, Python, Java, C , R), web development tools (HTML, CSS), frameworks (React), and server-side technologies (Node.js).
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard or similar platforms for online instruction delivery.
- Knowledge of computer networking principles and troubleshooting techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
- Excellent lesson planning skills combined with the ability to adapt content for different age groups or adult learners.
- Prior experience teaching or tutoring in higher education settings or adult education programs is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex technical concepts in an accessible manner.
