About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and client-focused Senior Client Advisor to join our Health & Benefits team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of clients, delivering strategic guidance and ensuring the seamless administration of employee benefit programs. This is an opportunity to build strong relationships, solve complex challenges, and make a meaningful impact on client success while contributing to the growth of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and retain a portfolio of employee benefits clients, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction
  • Oversee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, employees, and insurance carriers
  • Coordinate enrollments, plan changes, and terminations with accuracy and timeliness
  • Develop and deliver client-facing materials such as presentations, proposals, and benefit summaries
  • Partner with producers on new business opportunities and renewals
  • Negotiate with carriers to secure competitive pricing and plan design solutions
  • Stay current on industry trends, underwriting practices, and regulatory changes
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure full compliance with regulations and company standards
  • Resolve complex service issues, including billing discrepancies and coverage concerns
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and support business development initiatives
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, Section 125, and IRS reporting requirements (Forms 1095 and 5500)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in employee benefits or commercial lines account management
  • Active Health & Life Insurance License, or ability to obtain and maintain
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, Section 125 plans, and IRS reporting requirements (Forms 1095 and 5500)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion in client-facing situations

Work Environment

This role is based in a professional office environment in Virginia Beach, VA. The position regularly utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers. The work environment is collaborative, with a moderate noise level and occasional movement throughout the office.
