Duties
- Prepare pizza dough from scratch or using pre-made bases, ensuring consistency in texture and flavor
- Select and measure ingredients accurately to adhere to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicing tools efficiently and safely
- Cook pizzas using various techniques including grilling, braising, and poaching to achieve optimal results
- Maintain strict food safety standards by sanitizing workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new pizza varieties and seasonal specials based on customer preferences
- Ensure timely preparation of orders in high-volume production settings while maintaining quality standards
Skills
- Extensive food handling and preparation experience within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Knowledge of food safety management practices, including sanitizing procedures and HACCP principles
- Experience with food production processes such as braising, grilling, poaching, and meal preparation
- Familiarity with dietary department standards and catering experience is a plus
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining flexibility for special requests or modifications
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume setting
