- Public Relations: Build and maintain relationships to create a positive image and reputation for the organization by managing PR initiatives. Lead the development and execution of comprehensive PR strategies, including media outreach, thought leadership, and crisis communication. Monitor and manage emerging issues impacting the organization while advising leadership on strategic responses and maintaining strong media relationships to ensure effective messaging and measurable results.
- Strategic Initiatives: Oversee high-level strategic and external communications to ensure alignment with organizational strategy and internal communications. Provide guidance and support to the Board and its committees. Advise executives on critical changes to the organization, landscape, and business environment. Oversee and support the promotion of the Foundation in alignment with organizational, marketing, and communications strategy.
- Community Relations : Develop and lead public relations strategies that elevate the organization’s brand and visibility among external stakeholders. Promote and support speaking engagements, interviews, and appearances by coaching presenters and representing the organization when needed. Oversee strategic alignment and execution of community events, sponsorships, partnerships, and tours to maximize impact and engagement.
- Co llaborate: Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. Marketing, Communications, Government Relations, Foundation) to ensure lockstep alignment with organizational strategy and department requirements.
- Administrative Support: Track progress made on current workload through a project management system. Coordinate with external partners and vendors as needed to meet position expectations. Contribute to the development and implementation of department strategy and processes. Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines and gather necessary patient and staff releases for photo and video shoots. Supervise staff and interns as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field of study. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with direct responsibility for media strategy, reputation management, crisis communications, and community engagement.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, including experience supporting executive leadership .
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
