Summary

To provide overall operational direction (including both administrative and clinical functions) of an ambulatory practice or practices in collaboration with the division Director, Director and/or Sr. Director. Working in collaboration with medical and administrative leadership, the practice administrator develops strategies, sets objectives and allocates appropriate resources in providing the highest quality of care, a safe patient environment, efficient patient flows and excellent service to patients and their families. In addition, the administrator is accountable for fulfilling all relevant regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operations of assigned service lines; ensure compliance with standards of clinical care; maintain accountability for quality, safety, service, and operational excellence.
  • Provides leadership for initiating and monitoring change across the service line.
  • Works closely with Children's leadership, medical directors, physician providers and other clinical staff in a collaborative approach to excellence in service and clinical care, optimal outcomes, and efficient resource utilization.
  • Review, analyze, and collaboratively resolve operational issues including medical staff and patient family concerns.
  • Develop and support processes designed to engage all staff in the pursuit of operational and service excellence; regularly reviews patient satisfaction data and analyze for opportunities; involve staff and physicians in developing a plan for improvement when necessary; implement and maintain a weekly rounding process.
  • Monitor and analyze all performance improvement and quality data; research best practices across ambulatory services and other organizations to continually improve the patient/family experience; proactively address performance/quality issues including a thorough review with physician leaders for resolution.
  • Establish, implement and regularly review department policy and procedure for compliance with all regulatory requirements as well as alignment with organization policy and overal organization strategy and mission; adhere to all regulatory requirements.
  • Coordination of multi-disciplinary, single day coordinated clinics.
  • This position may require oversight of a diagnostic/support service or sub-specialty program and the associated staff and operations component. component.
  • This position may require oversight and coordination of service lines that are dispersed in various on- and off-site locations.
  • Responsible for building and leading a high-performing staff. Select and evaluate staff based on their ability to contribute to organization/division/clinic goals.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, support, and training to staff.
  • Responsible for staffing, performance management, professional development, clinical competency, recruitment and retention of staff in assigned service lines.
  • In service lines with managers or team leaders, this position is responsible for providing coaching on management and people leadership practices, and ensuring compliance with all people-related policies.
  • Work with Director and/or Sr. Director to develop long-term strategic plan(s) for assigned service lines; with Director and physician leadership, outline 5- and 10-year goals for service line; participate in planning process for program/service development and expansion.
  • Prepare an annual evaluation of the service area and proactively identify opportunities to improve the department's competitive position in the community; work with PR on marketing and communication programs, as necessary.
  • Monitor and analyze financial and budgetary performance including explanation and justification of actual vs. budget variance, oversee initiation of capital requests and new programs; review department charge master at least annually to capture additional revenue; develop and oversee contracts specific to areas of oversight. Monitors efficiency and effectiveness of billing process and patient charges, coordinate with affiliates and partner organizations/providers, as necessary.
  • Lead and/or participate on councils and committees as requested.

Work Experience

How You’ll Be Successful:

  • At least 2 years Related experience Required
  • At least 5 years Related experience Preferred
  • Experience in Surgery Centers or Surgical Services Preferred

EDUCATION

  • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required
  • Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Preferred
  • If Registered Nurse license is required, BSN is Required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • If Current RN license in the State of Texas Upon Hire Required
  • If clinical license (RN or other) required, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements 60 Days, Required
