We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Practice Administrator specializing in Medical Billing to lead our billing operations and ensure seamless financial management within our healthcare practice. Duties
- Oversee all aspects of medical billing, coding, and reimbursement processes to maximize revenue cycle efficiency.
- Supervise billing staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, JCAHO standards, healthcare regulations, and insurance policies related to billing and patient records.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix to ensure accurate data entry and recordkeeping.
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on unpaid claims, and implement strategies for effective collections.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to streamline patient management workflows and optimize practice operations.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support fiscal management and strategic planning.
Credentialing & Provider Enrollment
- Coordinate provider credentialing and recredentialing.
- Manage enrollment with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance carriers.
- Track expiring provider credentials and contracts.
Practice Operations
- Supervise front office and billing staff.
- Provide coaching, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling.
- Ensure encounters are closed promptly and claims are transmitted daily.
- Monitor patient scheduling, registration accuracy, and demographic verification.
- Coordinate Electronic Health Record (EHR) maintenance and workflow optimization.
- Develop downtime procedures to minimize disruptions during system outages.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare practice administration with a focus on billing.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, coding (including CPT/ICD codes), and insurance claim processing.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience managing healthcare administrative teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and financial documentation.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and health policy standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and communication purposes.
- Background in fiscal management including budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue cycle optimization.
- Effective managerial communication skills coupled with customer service orientation to support staff and patients alike.
