Summary
This position assists with the delivery of patient care across multiple disciplines: Preop, Phase II Recovery, OR and Business Office.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic patient care tasks such as vital signs and discontinuing IV fluids
- Perform basic documentation in EPIC such as vital signs and room assignment
- Assists is room breakdown, to include removal and cleaning of equipment and supplies from room
- Stocking supplies in patient care rooms and the operating rooms
- Transport patients to assigned areas
- For the Dallas Perianesthesia Department, may perform peripheral IV insertion and priming of IV tubing when delegated by a registered nurse (RN) within the scope of job duties.
- Appropriate training and documentation of competencies required.
- Utilizing established safety protocols, perioperative surgical assistants in OR/procedural areas transports and delivers approved medications from the pharmacy or Omnicell to the operating room as directed by the anesthesia provider, surgeon or perfusionist.
- Health care experience freferred
- High school diploma or equivalent Required
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Required
