Summary
The Development Officer drives success with fundraising programs and activities, portfolio management, and joint fundraising strategies with UT Southwestern for Children's Medical Center Foundation. As a frontline fundraiser and vital member of the foundation team, this position is responsible for building and managing relationships with annual, corporate, major and principal gift donors in support of Children's Health mission. The system's capital campaign goal for the fundraising team exceeds $1 billion dollars. The job will require the ability to achieve and sustain fundraising goals by raising a minimum of $1M - $3M annually. This job will be responsible for building significant immediate and long-term financial support for Children's Health by identifying, cultivating and soliciting individuals, foundations, corporations and organizations, as assigned. The ability to obtain new relationships advance and steward key relationships is an essential requirement of the job.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a frontline fundraiser for a large, complex healthcare organization in a capital campaign, supporting campaign priorities, donor qualification, proposal development, and gift solicitations and closures.
- Manage and direct a portfolio of donors and donor prospects for solicitation of gifts, including multi-year pledges and campaign commitments, sponsorships or planned gifts.
- Donor-centered relationship building
- Strategic and campaign-focused fundraising
- Develop new relationships
- Advance existing relationships
- Engage clinical partners and team members as appropriate in joint fundraising and capital goals
- Timely, personalized stewardship planned and executed for existing donors and sponsors in partnership with stewardship team.
- Communicate well with development team and leadership.
- Establish a team effort in fundraising to the benefit of the Foundation.
- Document and maintain accurate records in Raiser's edge.
- Fundraising or related experience preferred within healthcare or capital campaign experience.
- Collaborate with UT Southwestern development team in joint fundraising efforts. Includes strategy discussion, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship efforts.
- At least 5 years related experience required.
- 7 years related experience preferred.
- Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required
