Job Summary:
Under the direction of the administrator, the Central Supply Technician provides supplies for the hospital and patients within the hospital. This includes ordering, storing, and keeping an up-to-date inventory of all medical supplies. The Central Supply Technician is crucial in maintaining the central supply room and ensuring an efficient supply chain within the hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Order all medical supplies.
- Label each item with a bar code label.
- Store all supplies.
- Keep up-to-date inventory of all supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and order in the Central Supply room.
- Be knowledgeable about Central Supply bar code/computer system inventory control.
- Stock all rooms 3X a day and as needed with items such as sterile H2O, N/S, Trachs Kits, Irrigation Kits, Feeding Bags, Suction Caths, H2O2, Rubber Gloves, Trach Sponges, NACL Bullets, hygiene supplies, Formula, and Chux.
- List supplies and keep posted in Central Supply room.
- Order and be responsible for all respiratory equipment pertinent to each patient other than vents and return equipment to R.C.P. when no longer needed by patients.
- Inventory Respiratory Supply and order from R.C.P., as needed.
- Order all equipment used by the patient such as Bedside Commodes, Kangaroo Pumps, IV Pumps, Suction Machine, Pulmo Aids, O2 Concentrators, and equipment for in-patient rehab equipment.
- Handle New Admission Chart: Give admission kit to new admits, label each item, and order any supplies needed for the patient that we do not stock.
- Participate in in-service training.
- Keep current and have knowledge of federal and state regulations, pertaining to supply rooms, equipment, and safety issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification:
- High School Diploma.
- Preferred minimum 1 year of Hospital or SNF maintenance experience.
- Ability to be on feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
