What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Assistant position at Chief Fabrication?
Chief Fabrication is seeking a Shipping Assistant to join the Chief team. This position will properly prepare labels, documents and production parts that are requiring shipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Load flatbed or semi-trailers with finished production parts by placing, rearranging and securing loads to be transported safely to the customer.
- Assures that correct quantities are being shipped and properly documented on shipping documents.
- Marks, labels and identifies product and parts with proper identification and destination.
- Uses forklift, crane and other material handling equipment to move production parts.
Education:
- High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- Requires 1-3 years in operational knowledge of industrial shipping processes and material handling equipment.
- Must have good computer skills using our customer portal sites and our internal ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
Shift:
- 1st Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
