Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Execute food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients with skillful knife techniques
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and proper food handling procedures to ensure a hygienic environment
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Keep workstations clean, sanitized, and organized throughout shifts to support smooth kitchen operations
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and ensure timely service during busy periods
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment is highly preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety standards in production
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient handling
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
- Experience in meal preparation, recipe adherence, and catering is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and ensure seamless workflow
