CPLC Community Schools offer high school students in low-income communities a culturally-relevant learning environment that caters to each student’s individual needs. Our vision is to grow the future leaders of our community by increasing educational achievement, graduation rates, civic participation, and college entrance and graduation. We are a non-profit charter holder for two charter high schools in the Tucson area.

The Site Administrator/Teacher is a hybrid role that combines direct classroom instruction with administrative leadership responsibilities. In the administrative capacity, you will assist with daily operations, coordinate student services, support staff development, and contribute to a positive school culture. In the teaching role, you will plan and deliver standards-based instruction and assess student progress.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?

  • You will promote academic excellence and student well-being by serving as both a classroom teacher and an instructional leader under the direct supervision of the Superintendent.
  • You will support school-wide improvement efforts, foster a safe and inclusive environment, and ensure effective teaching and learning practices.
  • You will support the implementation of district policies, instructional initiatives, and student support systems.
  • The role requires strong organizational, instructional, and leadership skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • May recruit, hire, train staff, supervise, evaluate employee performance, and recommend promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

SPECIALIZATIONS

  • Deep understanding of curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment

Minimum Qualifications And Competencies

Education /Background:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject area
  • Valid administrative license/certification (e.g., Principal or Administrator Certificate in your state)
  • Valid state teaching certification in the appropriate subject and grade level
  • 3-5 years of successful teaching experience
  • Ability to model and support effective instructional practices
  • Use of assessment and performance data to inform teaching and school improvement strategies
  • Strong skills in managing student behavior and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Clear, respectful, and effective communication with students, staff, families, and the broader school community
  • Ability to foster a collaborative culture among teachers, staff, and administrators
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and facilitating professional growth
  • Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs of students and staff
  • Promotes equity and inclusion in all school practices
  • Uses educational technology to enhance instruction, communication, and data tracking
  • Effectively prioritizes tasks, meets deadlines, and handles multiple responsibilities
  • Passion for fostering academic and social-emotional growth for all students
  • Maintains high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical behavior
