We are looking for a dedicated and professional Car Rental Agent to join our growing family at our Berwyn location.

Position Summary

As a Car Rental Agent, you will be the face of Chicago Van Rentals. You will be responsible for managing the entire rental process, providing top-tier customer service, and ensuring a smooth, positive experience for every client. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping people.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Greet all customers in a friendly and professional manner, whether in person, over the phone, or via email.
• Reservations: Answer inquiries and manage the reservation process, listening to customer needs to recommend the right vehicle (e.g., minivan for a family, 15-passenger van for a group).
• Rental Contracts: Prepare and complete rental agreements accurately. Clearly explain terms, conditions, and charges to customers.
• Verification: Verify driver's licenses, insurance information, and payment methods.
• Vehicle Check-In/Out: Conduct detailed walk-around inspections of vehicles with customers to document vehicle condition, fuel levels, and mileage.
• Sales & Upselling: Confidently offer optional upgrades (like luxury vans) or add-ons that fit the customer's needs.
• Payment Processing: Handle payments, process returns, and manage billing extensions accurately.
• Fleet Coordination: Liaise with our cleaning and maintenance team to ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for rental.
• Problem-Solving: Resolve customer service issues or complaints with professionalism and efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in car rental, hospitality, retail, or a related customer-facing role is highly preferred.
• Must have a valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old (for vehicle insurance purposes).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with computers and comfortable learning new reservation software.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in contracts and inspections.
• A positive, team-player attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Schedule & Hours

• This is a full-time position.
• The Berwyn office has daily operations. Your schedule will require flexibility.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required based on business needs.

Compensation & Perks
