The Land Representative role at Chevron’s Downstream, Midstream & Chemicals Land Team provides support for midstream, downstream, and chemical assets along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. The position is in the Baytown field office with infrequent travel to the downtown Houston office.

The Land Representative role at Chevron’s Downstream, Midstream & Chemicals Land Team provides support for midstream, downstream, and chemical assets along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. The position is in the Baytown field office with infrequent travel to the downtown Houston office.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Negotiate and prepare complex agreements pertaining to pipeline projects that may involve significant financial impact, multiple landowners and a moderate degree of public sensitivity.
- Maintain and analyze pipeline ROW files including easements, lease documents, real estate deeds, and various other documents relating to ownership and asset rights.
- Address complex ROW related issues, typically in support of 3rd Party Inquiries for the asset and may involve business, legal or operational consequences to Company assets.
- Leads efforts to effectively communicate and persuasively negotiate with public agencies, private property owners, real estate developers, and the general public on matters affecting our ability to operate and maintain our pipelines.
- Develops alternatives and options on complex ROW/Legal problems and recommends appropriate strategies and solutions to Management.
- Assist with internal and external right-of-way and title research
- Provide due diligence support during the acquisition or divestment of assets
- Provides solutions to a variety of problems of greater complexity.
- Prepares analysis of legal obligations and/or provide assistance as needed for potential legal actions.
- Collaborates well with cross-functional team members in a variety of fields including Operations, Facilities Engineering, Health & Safety, Permitting, and Legal.
- Exercises independent judgment to determine appropriate approaches to issues.
- Works under minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years of midstream or surface land representative experience
- Working knowledge of midstream legal agreements (rights-of-way, access, amendments, etc.)
- Acquisition and divestiture due diligence experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Energy Commerce, Petroleum Land Management, or similar
- 5 years of midstream or surface land representative experience
- Previous experience working in-house at an integrated oil and gas company
