What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Driver (part-time) position at Chesterfield County?
Minimum Qualifications
Seeking a skilled, enthusiastic, safety and customer-oriented Parts Delivery Driver. High school diploma or GED; two years of driving experience; one year of delivery experience utilizing a light or medium delivery vehicle; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information; ability to use a computer, to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors and other contacts; to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed up to 50 pounds. Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
PLEASE NOTE: Must maintain personal mobile technology as a condition of employment.
Duties
Deliver and pick up parts as requested by Parts Manager; load truck in such a way as to eliminate damage to fragile parts; keep truck clean and neat and regularly check vehicle to keep in good running condition; report any malfunctions of parts vehicle to Parts Manager immediately; assist in keeping parts department and parts area clean; make pick up and delivery log after each delivery; assist service department as needed with attendant responsibilities of managing the drop off and pick up of customers' vehicles. Perform other work as required.
This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.
Shift
24 hours/week; 3 days/week; 7:30a.m. - 4:00p.m.; varies Monday – Friday
