Position Description
The ideal candidate for the Career Exposure Program Coordinator position at CCSA will demonstrate a commitment to preparing students for success beyond high school through meaningful career exploration and real-world learning experiences. This individual will collaborate with school leadership, counselors, teachers, families, employers, higher education institutions, and community partners to implement career readiness opportunities as outlined in our strategic plan
Responsibilities and Qualities
- Design and coordinate career exposure experiences including job shadowing, internships, service-learning opportunities, career panels, and workplace visits.
- Build and maintain partnerships with employers, nonprofits, trade organizations, workforce agencies, and higher education institutions.
- Coordinate student participation, preparation activities, reflection experiences, and family communication.
- Track participation and program outcomes aligned with strategic plan goals and prepare periodic reports.
- Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and administrators to integrate career exploration into post-secondary planning.
- Identify opportunities to expand programming through grants, partnerships, and community engagement.
- Consistently demonstrates professionalism in communication and interpersonal interactions.
- Demonstrates initiative and has strong planning and organizational abilities.
- Ability to meet professional expectations and policies.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and/or CEO.
- Coordinate and monitor Indicator 13 transition activities and career exposure experiences for students with IEPs in collaboration with special education staff and families.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience in education, workforce development, college and career readiness, counseling, program coordination, or a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and manage multiple projects.
- Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and data management skills.
- Satisfactory Act 34, Act 151, Act 168, and FBI clearances.
