Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership & Research Partnership
- Collaborate with teachers to design and co-facilitate research-rich learning experiences that promote complex thinking across disciplines.
- Partner with district library media specialists to enhance, design, and refine the library scope and sequence in order to promote complex thinking.
- Provide direct instruction in research strategies, source evaluation, ethical use of information, and academic integrity.
- Serve as a trusted instructional partner and resource for faculty, supporting rigorous inquiry, high-quality learning experiences, and high-quality instruction in the classroom.
- Lead thoughtful, practical integration of artificial intelligence tools that strengthen and deepen student thinking.
- Provide guidance to students and staff on responsible, transparent, and academically sound AI use in alignment with district guidelines and student data privacy standards.
- Support faculty in applying AI in real-world, instructionally meaningful ways.
- Develop and manage a diverse, relevant print collection aligned with curricular priorities and student interests.
- Curate and maintain high-quality digital resources, including research databases.
- Use data and feedback to inform collection development and ensure representation of diverse perspectives.
- Develop and manage an annual library budget that reflects curricular priorities, student needs, and responsible stewardship of district resources.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports student belonging and academic engagement.
- Design and host events that promote literacy, intellectual curiosity, and school community.
- Oversee daily operations of the Library Media Center and contribute to continuous improvement efforts as part of the Instructional Leadership Team.
