Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, a high level of energy, creativity, and the desire to teach young learners. Candidates must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of, and the ability to teach all students in a developmentally appropriate full-day kindergarten program which addresses the academic, social, and emotional needs of each learner. The ability to create a positive, enthusiastic, dynamic classroom climate that supports individualized learning is necessary. Experience teaching reading and writing workshop as well as the integration of math, science, social studies, and health in a student-centered learning environment is desirable.
Qualifications
Connecticut Teaching Certificate #001, #002, #004, #005, #013, #305 or the ability to qualify, with appropriate endorsement(s), and expertise in curriculum sub-areas.
Salary
In accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and the Education Association of Cheshire.
Benefits
Children of a teacher who does not reside in Cheshire may attend the Cheshire Public Schools so long as the teacher continues to teach in Cheshire and pays 50% of the published regular education tuition cost, plus any additional costs incurred by the district regarding their child.
