Chesapeake Search Partners is working with an independent, global investment management and strategic advisory firm to identify a Partnership/Alternative Investment Tax Manager to join their growing team. This role provides a unique opportunity for career growth within the corporate tax function of a global investment management and strategic advisory organization.
This position is open to both Baltimore and D.C
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise stakeholders on tax implications of alternative investment fund investments.
- Serve as a primary contact with external tax service providers.
- Coordinate delivery of K-1s for alternative investment partnership funds.
- Liaise with fund administration teams and third-party administrators regarding accounting packages, allocations, K-1s, and investor information.
- Prepare and maintain tracking schedules for K-1s, foreign investor reporting, stock distributions, partner transfers, state filings, and address changes.
- Coordinate timely filing of income tax, personal property, and other annual filings.
- Track and address federal and state tax notices.
- Conduct tax research and draft memoranda on various tax issues.
- Continuously update knowledge through educational opportunities, publications, and professional networks.
Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience in public accounting or private equity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA license required.
- Prior experience with partnership tax compliance and alternative investment funds.
- Strong tax research skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site five days a week.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
