Serves as a clinical and operational leader, providing expert respiratory care and mentoring staff in advanced technical skills, critical thinking, and patient advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist and basic shift leader functions.
- Plans and adjusts staffing using EMR reports, ensuring appropriate coverage and safe handoffs.
- Maintains safety protocols, reports safety events, and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Assists with staff orientation, training, and technical competency development.
- Contributes to patient safety and clinical practice standards.
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Three years of RT experience, including critical care.
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner and RRT credentialed.
- Certifications: BLS, membership in AARC, and additional certifications as required.
- Knowledge of respiratory practices, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in critical care procedures and equipment.
