Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Locum Tenens

Job Overview: This role involves providing full-time psychiatric services to a geriatric patient population within assisted living and skilled nursing settings. The clinician will perform initial evaluations, follow-up visits, diagnose, treat psychiatric conditions, and manage medications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct approximately 15-20 patient visits daily, including initial assessments (~40 minutes) and follow-ups (~20 minutes).
• Collaborate with onsite care teams and utilize RN Medical Virtual Assistants for documentation and scheduling.
• Manage a rotating caseload of around 200 patients, primarily seen biweekly.
• Provide prescriptive authority and oversee diagnosis and treatment plans.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Board certification in psychiatry is required.
• Experience in geriatric psychiatry preferred.
• Strong diagnostic, medication management, and collaborative skills.
• Ability to work independently in a team-based environment.
  
  

Additional Details: The position is on-site, with day shifts Monday through Friday, no call required, and involves travel between facilities. Clinicians will work approximately 40 hours per week, providing comprehensive psychiatric care in assisted living and skilled nursing environments.
