Interim Accounting Manager

Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a growing organization in the government contracting space that is seeking an Interim Accounting Manager to support its accounting function during a period of transition. This role is intended to provide immediate, hands‑on support while the organization evaluates the duties and responsibilities of the existing roles in order to determine their approach for the permanent replacement.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is comfortable stepping into an active environment, supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations, and ensuring continuity during leadership changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable processing
• Perform journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with month‑end close activities
• Maintain accurate and timely financial records
• Partner with finance leadership to ensure a smooth transition and operational stability
• Provide ad hoc accounting support as responsibilities are assessed and refined

• Prior experience in an Accounting Manager role
• Strong hands‑on accounting background
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and AP processes
• Government contracting experience required
• ERP systems experience such as Costpoint or Unanet

Salary : $65 - $75
