Key Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting functions supporting month-end and year-end close
- Prepare schedules and journal entries for review by senior leadership
- Develop and maintain multiple cost allocation schedules on a monthly basis
- Process Accounts Payable, including review, coding, documentation, and timely payments
- Coordinate with internal staff, vendors, and banking partners in a professional manner
- Track and manage international wire transfers as needed
- Ensure adherence to established accounting procedures and internal controls
- Maintain compliance with applicable sponsoring agency and grant regulations
- Assist with audit preparation, including annual financial audits and programmatic audits
- Support preparation of Form 990 and related filings
- Assist with accounting research and special projects as requested
- Serve as backup for various accounting functions when needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong experience with QuickBooks Online or a similar accounting system
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of nonprofit accounting, GAAP, and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting month-end close and general ledger activities
- Eligibility to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
- Ability and willingness to work onsite in a hybrid environment
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with grant-funded accounting
- Understanding of Uniform Guidance
- Exposure to foreign currency transactions and international payments
- Experience with accounts payable automation tools (e.g., Anybill or similar)
- Prior experience supporting audits and Form 990 preparation
