Chenega’s Strategic Security Business Unit (SSBU) is seeking dedicated Armed Security Officers who take pride in protecting critical personnel, facilities, and operations in high-visibility, high-responsibility environments. As an Armed Security Officer, you will serve on the frontline of protection, maintaining a secure environment through proactive presence, sound judgment, and strict adherence to security protocols. You will represent Chenega and our federal clients with professionalism while contributing directly to the safety and continuity of vital operations.
This position is on-site in Artesia, NM.
Responsibilities
- Provide armed protective services for personnel, assets, and facilities in accordance with federal, contract, and SSBU security requirements.
- Control access points, screen personnel and vehicles, and conduct patrols to detect and deter threats.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations.
- Enforce laws, regulations, and site-specific policies with professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and required documentation.
- Operate as part of a disciplined team while remaining alert, calm, and decisive in dynamic environments.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Preferred, but not required: Any combination of two years of experience in physical security (as a security officer - armed or unarmed) and service with the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard), or associate's degree in a Security or Law Enforcement related field, or successful completion of a police officer’s basic training academy.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
