Job Title: Commercial Loan Specialist
Here’s how you’ll make an impact
Ensures effective, efficient and accurate processing and servicing of business client accounts.
- Prepares commercial loan and small business loan documentation in accordance with loan approval, commitment letters and lender’s instructions; reviews externally prepared and system originated documents for accuracy and completeness and initiates corrective measures, if necessary; works with attorneys to coordinate attorney prepared documents and loan closings.
- Reviews existing client files to ensure compliance with company policy and laws and regulations relating to commercial loans; ensures all documents are received and collateral information is accurate and protects the company’s position.
- Performs the perfection of all collateral liens; coordinates with legal counsel for the return of completed collateral files with legal opinion; verifies completion of collateral files and reviews them prior to official filing.
- Assists loan officers in preparation for closings by reviewing documents from attorney, determining and advising attorney of correct payment amounts for closings and Bank fees to collect, processing closing checks and ensuring post-closing loan documents are complete and accurate and confirming correct application and disbursement of loan proceeds.
- Responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of all collateral and collateral documentation for all commercial loans and small business loans; ensures that all collateral and collateral documents are accurately displayed and available on the ITI system.
- Balances related Commercial Loan GL accounts.
- Releases collateral on paid Commercial Loans and small business loans.
- Orders flood determinations, environmental reports, appraisals, and tax services. Pays invoices related to services, uploads reports to Sage Works.
- Responsible for the accurate implementation of existing policies, procedures, governmental regulations and systems.
- Serves as a technical resource on the loan origination system
- Creates complex queries and reports.
- Compiles data and prepares reports for Board of Directors, loan committees and management as needed.
- Reviews and evaluates Business Client Services processes and makes recommendations to improve efficiency and productivity; Implements change as directed.
- Conforms to the General Performance Expectations as identified for all employees.
Qualifications/Requirements
- BS or BA degree in related field of study preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in related positions required
- Ability to communicate, motivate and organize projects under deadline pressure.
- Demonstrated knowledge of all Business Client Services systems and applications and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current commercial lending laws and regulations, including loan and collateral documentation requirements
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
Salary Range $22 to $34 Hourly
Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education and, where applicable, licenses or certifications obtained.
