Position Overview: Check Defense is a fast-growing federal contractor seeking a qualified and experienced professional Scheduling / Senior Training & Development Specialist who serves as the contractor’s senior on-site representative and primary liaison between the Government and contractor workforce supporting the Engagement Skills Trainer II (EST II) program at Joint Base San Antonio, TX (JBSA). This position is responsible for overseeing training schedules, coordinating simulator utilization, managing instructor/operator activities, ensuring system readiness, and maintaining compliance with all contractual requirements. The incumbent provides leadership, technical guidance, training oversight, and administrative management to support the successful execution of Army weapons simulation training programs.

The selected candidate will play a critical role in coordinating training operations across multiple EST II training systems while ensuring efficient resource utilization, operational readiness, preventive maintenance scheduling, certification tracking, and quality program execution. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Duties And Responsibilities

Program Scheduling and Coordination

  • Serve as the primary scheduling coordinator for all EST II training activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage training schedules supporting Initial Entry Training (IET), Advanced Individual Training (AIT), Active Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard units.
  • Coordinate simulator availability, instructor assignments, maintenance windows, and facility utilization.
  • Ensure uninterrupted support for five 15-lane EST II systems and one 10-lane EST II system.
  • Coordinate training requests and scheduling adjustments with Government representatives and training units.
  • Maintain training calendars and resource allocation plans.

Training and Development Management

  • Serve as the contractor’s on-site Point of Contact (POC) and primary interface between Government personnel and contractor staff.
  • Monitor instructor/operator performance and training delivery.
  • Support development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs and instructional materials.
  • Oversee instructor certification and recertification programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Army training doctrine, approved Programs of Instruction (POI), and training standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to training personnel.

Administrative and Data Management

  • Maintain certification and recertification records for instructors and operators.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases tracking:
    • Training participation
    • Instructor certifications
    • User pass/fail rates
    • Remedial training efforts
    • Equipment utilization
    • Maintenance schedules
  • Generate reports supporting management reviews, training analysis, and operational decision-making.
  • Prepare and submit Monthly Status Reports (MSRs) and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain document control and records management procedures.
Operational Oversight

  • Monitor daily operations of EST II facilities and training systems.
  • Ensure instructors and operators are properly staffed and assigned.
  • Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance activities.
  • Track simulator usage and maintenance data within TS-MATS and related Army systems.
  • Participate in After Action Reviews (AARs) and provide operational assessments and recommendations.
  • Ensure facilities meet operational readiness and safety standards.

Leadership and Compliance

  • Support implementation of Quality Control Plans (QCP), Project Safety Plans (PSP), and operational procedures.
  • Attend and participate in management meetings, kickoff meetings, closeout meetings, and synchronization activities.
  • Maintain compliance with Army regulations, contract requirements, safety programs, and security procedures.
  • Coordinate personnel training requirements and annual recertification programs.
  • Identify process improvements that enhance training effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • United States citizen.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Training Management, Education, Military Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in training management, military training operations, scheduling, workforce coordination, or program administration.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex schedules and managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English fluently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military service or experience supporting military training programs.
  • Experience supporting Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS).
  • Knowledge of EST II or other virtual weapons training systems.
  • Experience with Army training management systems and scheduling tools.
  • Experience supervising personnel and managing contractor support operations.
  • Familiarity with TS-MATS and Army training reporting requirements.

  • Ability to identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.

  • Lifting: frequently lift and move up to 35lbs.
