Position Overview: Check Defense is a fast-growing federal contractor seeking a qualified and experienced professional Engagement Skills Trainer Instructor/ System Operator. The Engagement Skills Trainer provides instructional support and training services for concurrent lane coverage to support seven 5-lane systems. Ensures continuous lane execution and simulator operation, and assists in training events, including surge or flex week scheduling. Supports the site lead and maintains the equipment and facilities as needed. This role is ideal for individuals with extensive knowledge of firearms and a desire to help our military personnel improve their marksmanship. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Duties And Responsibilities
Training Execution
- Operate EST II systems during standard and flex work weeks, providing instructions for use as the qualified EST instructor/system operator for the most current versions of Engagement Skills Training, to include its other associated and non-associated weapons training simulators (i.e., Laser Marksmanship Training Systems and Low-Cost Advanced Target Systems).
- Instruct and train operation tasks for the EST to Soldiers and Government employees on Basic Rifle Marksmanship IAW DA PAM 350-38 and certified or approved EST Program of Instruction (POI).
- Assist military personnel in preparation and presentation of weapons instruction by preparing, evaluating, and delivering assigned instruction IAW The U.S. Army Learning Concept for Training and Education to include differentiated instruction, available operational instructional materials, training aids, and systems.
- Operate the computer control station to control training sequencing and video/audio playback functions, including performing duties based on the manufacturer’s diagram and specifications, schematic, and wiring diagram.
- Assist with scenario playback and AAR development
- Support weekend surge operations when directed
- Provide remedial training and special assistance when necessary.
- Provide user certification training to ensure unit trainers are proficient
- Qualify and provide training certification and recertification for new instructors and Instructor/System Operators.
- Conduct daily preventive maintenance on consoles and weapons
- Load all scheduled preventive maintenance into the TS-MATS web-based program IAW -10 operation and maintenance procedures required for the EST II.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of training facility
- Conduct daily facility upkeep and equipment inspection
- United States citizen.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Ud.S.-issued Driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background investigation.
- Proficient with EST II weapon simulator systems
- Knowledge of Windows-based software
- Troubleshooting skills in hardware/software systems
- Instructional experience
- Basic troubleshooting ability
- Strong interpersonal skills in a team-based development environment.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Experience working both individually and in team groups, all consistent with the organizational goals.
- Indoors in varying light conditions
