Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of hardscape features including pavers, stonework, brickwork, and concrete elements using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure precise execution of designs.
- Operate heavy equipment safely for excavation, grading, and material placement to support hardscape projects.
- Prepare surfaces through concrete forming, finishing, and masonry techniques to create stable foundations for outdoor structures.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication tasks such as cutting, shaping, and installing materials like glass, tile, or stucco.
- Conduct site inspections to verify quality standards are met during each phase of construction; identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; ensure all tools and equipment are properly used and stored following safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on hardscape or masonry projects.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings related to outdoor construction.
- Hands-on knowledge of using hand tools (e.g., chisels, trowels), power tools (e.g., saws, drills), and heavy equipment operation.
- Background in concrete finishing, masonry techniques such as bricklaying or stone setting, and surface preparation.
- Experience with construction management practices including estimating, inspection, and project coordination is a plus.
- Knowledge of plumbing or electrical systems related to outdoor features is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to work safely on construction sites while adhering to all safety guidelines; strong attention to detail ensures high-quality craftsmanship.
