Role Overview
The Process Engineer plays a critical role in driving process improvements, supporting new product introduction, and ensuring robust quality across manufacturing operations. This hands-on position requires active engagement on the production floor to deeply understand process flows, equipment functionality, and key parameters. Working cross-functionally with operations, R&D, quality, and engineering, the Process Engineer helps coordinate initiatives and acts as a liaison between departments to ensure safe, efficient, and scalable operations.
Key Responsibilities
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement best practices, process improvements, and equipment modifications to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
- Eliminate waste, improve cycle times, and reduce yield loss across processes.
- Lead and support Kaizen events, including planning, facilitation, documentation, and presentation of outcomes to senior leadership.
- Develop and maintain sustainment plans to ensure lasting impact from improvement initiatives.
SOP & Standard Work Definition
- Maintain and train staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs) with the support of operations leadership.
- Create and update standard work documentation and time studies to ensure consistent practices and accurate material costing.
Project Management
- Draft and implement capital project plans in collaboration with the Plant Engineer.
- Support global operations standardization and consolidation initiatives as required.
New Product Introduction (NPI) & R&D Support
- Provide hands-on support during product trials, perform manufacturability assessments, and assist in process optimization.
- Advise R&D on equipment capability and capacity during the transfer of technologies from development to production scale.
Quality System Support
- Support investigations into production issues and customer complaints using strong process knowledge to drive root cause analysis and resolution.
- Serve as an internal auditor to support compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of hands-on production floor support
- Demonstrated success in leading continuous improvement initiatives and achieving measurable results
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and project management abilities
- Data-driven problem-solving and analytical skills
- Prior experience in chemical, materials, or construction products industries preferred
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (i.e. Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering)
Salary : $80 - $90
