Exciting Summer Opportunity in Facilities & Campus Upkeep!

Charlotte Latin's Facilities Department is seeking energetic and dedicated summer crew members to play a vital role in maintaining our beautiful campus.

Become an essential part of the team, assisting with hands-on projects in campus upkeep, maintenance, and facility support. You'll gain practical experience while contributing directly to creating an optimal environment for our community. 

Work may begin as early as mid-May and continue through mid-August. Hours range from 25 to 30 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Maintenance and Custodial

Duties

• Assist maintenance staff with various tasks: moving furniture, performing preventative maintenance on equipment, and various other tasks. 
• Help organize storage buildings.
• Assist grounds staff with campus clean-up, including some pressure washing.
• Provide assistance to any other facilities staff in the execution of their duties.

Skills

• Ability to operate hand tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair work
• Ability to work independently to carry out assignments
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
• Adheres to the highest level of professionalism 
• Ability to safely operate a golf cart.

Working Conditions and Environment 

• Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds. 
• Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity. 
• Frequently talk and hear. 
• Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders. 
• Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor temperatures of heat and cold. 
• Long or odd hours, as needed.
