What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Front Desk position at Charleston Cornea & Refractive Surgery, P.A.?
Energetic, reliable, positive-minded and self-starting individual needed for receptionist/front office position for a fast-paced ophthalmology practice. Ability to multitask a must. Previous experience as a medical receptionist and/ or customer service representative preferred. Computer skills mandatory. Knowledge of electronic Practice Management and Medical Record systems required to fulfill job duties.
High school baccalaureate or GED required. Job duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, signing patients in and out, collecting and payments , interfacing with technical staff and physicians regarding patient triage, working and multi-tasking under pressure. Additional duties include sending reports or letters to referring physicians, scanning documents into the electronic medical record, handling prior authorizations for prescriptions and surgeries, determining copayments, coinsurance and deductible amounts to be collected from patients, and adjusting physician schedules when necessary.
