Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Front Desk Receptionist role based in Charleston, SC. The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for clients, greeting visitors, answering phones, and directing inquiries in a professional and friendly manner. Daily tasks include scheduling and confirming appointments, checking clients and patients in and out, updating client and patient records, and processing payments. The role also involves managing incoming calls, relaying messages to veterinary staff, and providing basic information about services and policies. Additional responsibilities may include handling mail, maintaining a tidy reception and waiting area, and supporting the veterinary team with general administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with clients in person and over the phone.
- Proficiency in receptionist duties, including greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and managing a busy front desk environment.
- Solid phone etiquette and clerical skills, such as handling multi-line phone systems, data entry, filing, and accurate record keeping.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm and organized in a fast-paced setting.
- Comfort working around animals and collaborating with veterinary and support staff.
- Basic computer skills; experience with scheduling or practice management software is a plus.
- Prior experience in a veterinary, medical, or customer-facing office environment preferred but not required.
