Job Summary

TheTooling Machinistis responsible formold and infusion bagfabrication, repair,maintenanceand setup. The individualis responsible forcontinuous improvement within the facility and in particular withing the scope of their responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Setup and changeover of molds per production schedule.
  • Assembles, repairs, and fabricates parts or components formolds or infusion bagsbyoperatingmechanical equipment.
  • Operateschop guns, saws, grinders, and all other shop equipment necessary to repair molds and infusion bags.
  • Inspect andmaintainmolds;clean, wax,buffand polish to ensure parts do not stick to mold in production.
  • Utilizes precision measuring instruments to check the accuracy and quality ofmachinedparts.
  • Select andoperatetheappropriate toolsto cut, shape, or finish metal, plastic, or composite material.
  • Identifyand order replacement parts, tooling, etc. and communicate with vendors for tooling products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability toread,interpret documentsand blueprints.
  • Ability to apply fractions, addition, subtraction, division and decimals,andcommon fractions in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and mechanical equipment and tools.
  • Goodverbaland writtencommunication skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Education And Experience

  • A high school diploma or general education (GED) isrequired.
  • Minimumofone year of related experience and/or training.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • The employee mustfrequentlylift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or moveup35-100 pounds.Charles Industries'weight rule:35 lbs. and under can be lifted alone.35 - 50 lbs. can be lifted by one person if they feel comfortable doing so.50 lbs. or more requires the employee to getassistanceor use a lifting device. (i.e.pallet jack, forklift, scissor table, buddy system).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • The employeeregularly worksnear moving, vibrating mechanical equipment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and exposedto minimal risk of electrical shock.
