What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Representative position at Channeled Resources Group?
Who are we?
Think of us as the TJ Maxx or Marshalls of the pressure-sensitive roll label industry.
We are a fun, creative, and hard-working team with a serious mission: we level the playing field for the "little guys". We source offcuts and high-quality materials from major manufacturers and resell them at reduced pricing. This gives small-to-mid-sized printing companies the buying power they need to win bids against the industry giants.
We are passionate about keeping out customers profitable and in business. If you love the idea of being a hero to your clients and working in a supportive culture where we actually like coming to work, we want to meet you.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Hunter who is ready to grow their own territory. You won't just be selling paper and film; you will be offering business owners a lifeline to higher margins and more competative quotes.
You will be the face of our brand, building relationships with business owners and decision-makers, and helping them solve their supply chain puzzles with our inventory.
What You'll Do Every Day:
- Hunt for Hidden Gems: You will manage the full sales cycle, from cold calling to closing. You are the bridge between our unique inventory and the businesses that need it most.
- Be a Consultant, Not just a Clerk: You'll use technical selling skills to help customers understand how our pressure-sensitive papers, films, and tag stocks fit their specific machinery and jobs.
- Build Real Relationships: We don't just want transactions; we want partners. You'll use your personality to build trust with clients, ensuring they view us as their secret weapon.
- Master the Market: You'll become an expert on pricing and industry trends (don't worry, we'll help you get there!) to ensure you are always offering the best value.
- Collaborate: You'll work closely with our Sales Manager, Customer Service, and Manufacturing teams. We win as a team.
How We Define Success (The Nitty Gritty)
We believe in transparency. We don't guess at success; we plan for it. Here is the roadmap for a successful Rep in the role:
- Activity Matters: You are proactive. We expect a minimum of 20 prospect and customer contacts per day, all logged in our CRM (Sales Force - tracking system). This keeps your pipeline full and your commission check growing.
- Ramp-Up Plan: We give you time to learn, but we aim for growth:
- Months 2-6: Land 1 new customer per month
-Months 7-12: Land 2 new customers per month
-Year 2 : Land 3 new customers per month
- Industry Expertise: We expect you to be a sponge. By your 6-month mark, you should have a solid grasp of the Pressure Sensitive & Blank Label industries.
What Should You Bring to the Table
- The Personality: You are friendly, creative, and personable. You can talk to a CEO or a press operator with equal ease.
- The Drive: You are a multitasking pro who loves the chase of a new sale.
- The Tech: You are proficient in Google Workspace and comfortable using a CRM to stay organized.
- The Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills are a must-you know how to write an email that gets opened.
- The Credentials: A Bachelor's degree is required for this position.
Why Join Us?
- Impact: You are directly helping small businesses survive and thrive.
- Culture: We are a family. We support each other, solve problems creatively, and maintain high integrity.
- Training: We will teach you the technical ins and outs of the paper industry.
